Apache Junction Police Department officers recently responded to a single-vehicle collision near Ironwood Drive and Broadway Avenue after a driver crashed into the AJPD portable radar speed trailer, heavily damaging the trailer, digital display and control box.
The same equipment is regularly used throughout the community to display traffic safety messages — including reminders not to drink and drive, police said at https://www.facebook.com/ApacheJunctionPD.
During the investigation, the driver admitted to consuming alcohol and using marijuana and methamphetamine earlier in the evening, police said.
