Bid approved for Apache Junction drainage improvements

A nearly $360,000 bid for Prospector Park drainage improvements was approved recently by the Apache Junction City Council.

The council on Feb. 18 voted unanimously as part of a consent agenda with other items to approve the contract with Primary Construction Inc. not to exceed $359,952.73 which includes a 5% contingency.

Seven bids received for planned Prospector Park drainage channel improvements were rejected late last year because they were above the city of Apache Junction’s budget for the work. The Apache Junction City Council voted unanimously Dec. 17 to reject proposals received for work at the park, 3015 N. Idaho Road.
