Applications sought for Apache Junction health, human services funding

The Apache Junction Health and Human Services Commission will open its application period for fiscal year 2024-25 nonprofit funding after the new year.

Funding is available to Apache Junction health and human service nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations that serve city residents. Applications for the funding allocations will be accepted after Jan. 1, and are due no later than Jan. 31, according to a release.

Applications must include:

  • The most recent audit report or profit and loss statement
  • The most recent financial statement
  • A detailed expenditure statement that includes accounting of all previously received city of Apache Junction funding
  • Source and amount of funding received from all other sources (non-governmental agencies)
  • Membership fees and dues
  • Private contributions
  • Source and amount of funding received from other governmental agencies
  • Client service information as it applies to assistance provided to city residents
  • Proof of non-profit status as defined by the IRS (current Letter of Determination from the IRS)
  • Proof of corporate status to include copies of by-laws and articles of incorporation
  • Names and addresses of all current board members of agency governing board

More information on the application may be found at apachejunctionaz.gov/hhsc. Applications will be reviewed in February. The commission will conduct applicant interviews in March. Appropriation allocation recommendations are scheduled for April. The commission will present recommendations to the city council in May. The council will award contracts after city budget adoption. The funding covers the 2024-25 fiscal year, which begins July 1.
