OPINION — As a lifelong educator, I am pleased to endorse Franklin Zyriek for Kyrene Governing Board.
Franklin grew up in the Kyrene School District, so he understands firsthand the value of an excellent public education. He also understands that strong public schools benefit all of us by strengthening our communities, our economy and our democracy.
Franklin is thoughtful, serious and engaged. He listens carefully, considers different perspectives and comes to reasoned conclusions. Just as importantly, he follows through. When Franklin commits to something, you can count on him to do the work necessary to accomplish the goal.
I am confident that Franklin will bring that same thoughtfulness, sound judgment and commitment to the Kyrene Governing Board. He will stand up for our students, teachers and staff and help ensure that Kyrene schools remain among the best in Arizona. I am proud to support his candidacy.
