Overdose Reversal Kit with two 4 mg doses on naloxone and resources to help those in active addiction.
Posted
Naloxone, commonly known as Narcan, isn't only for people who use opioids. Family members, friends and others can keep Narcan on hand in case they encounter someone experiencing an opioid overdose.
Like CPR, it's a lifesaving tool you can learn to use before an emergency happens. Narcan is safe to use on people of all ages and sizes, including infants. Authorities recommend calling 911 after administering Narcan to help assess the patient's needs.
All boxes of Narcan come with instructions detailing how to administer the drug, but those looking for more education can contact the Tempe EnVision Center to speak with a specialist.
Narcan can also be purchased at select pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens.
Here’s where to get Narcan in Tempe for free:
Tempe EnVision Center, 1310 E. Apache Blvd. Help yourself at the purple distribution box inside – you can also meet with a Community Health Worker or Peer Support Specialist for more resources.
Tempe Fire Stations, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
