Following the passing of Tempe's Drink Spiking Education ordinance, the city will be hosting a late-night event for partygoers to receive free drink spiking test kits and other resources to assist with a safe night out.
Tempe Councilmember Randy Keating and volunteers will be on Mill Avenue 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 handing out free drink-spike detection kits to people heading out for the evening and raising awareness of Tempe's new drink-spiking prevention ordinance.
Keating, who chaired the City Council subcommittee that developed the ordinance, will talk with students and others enjoying Mill Avenue about drink-spiking prevention, how to use the test kits and new safety resources now available at many Tempe bars and restaurants.
