The Tempe Chamber of Commerce will present the Business Excellence Awards Annual Luncheon on Thursday, June 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Culinary Dropout, 149 S. Farmer Ave.
The Tempe Chamber is taking nominations to recognize outstanding businesses and to celebrate those that go above and beyond, making Tempe a great place to work and live, a press release stated.
Awards are earned by businesses that deliver exceptional customer service, employee development, community involvement and a unique vision.
“This event is a cornerstone of our chamber’s mission to foster a vibrant, resilient economy and a collaborative future for all businesses in our city,” Robin Arredondo-Savage, president/CEO of the Tempe Chamber, said in the release.
Categories now accepting nominations are:
- Large Business (51 or more employees)
- Small Business (less than 50 employees)
- First Responder of the Year
- The Cool Place to Work
- The Innovation & Sustainability Award
- Nonprofit of the Year

Tom Binge, Tempe Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, said in the release that the Business Excellence Awards are an exciting event for the chamber — an opportunity to recognize contributions from chamber members and the community throughout the year.
Awards include interesting categories like the Cool Place to Work Award and the First Responder of the Year Award, a new award for this year's awards.
“With so many great people and organizations to choose from, I’m excited to see who will come out on top this year,” Binge said.
Tom Binge with Renaissance Financial will pass the gavel to Board Chair Elect Laura Briscoe, owner of Laura’s Gourmet. Briscoe will oversee the board of directors through the 2025-26 fiscal year.
Briscoe, a past Small Business of the Year Award winner, said in the release that the chamber celebrates “the spirit of innovation, resilience, and community” that defines local businesses.
“The Business Excellence Awards are a testament to the outstanding contributions of companies that make Tempe a vibrant place to live and work," Briscoe said.
The Tempe Chamber will also give a recap of the past year focusing on major accomplishments in which the chamber strengthened its position as a highly visible, trusted and influential organization at the forefront of advocating for business, the release stated.
