Copa Health, a provider of integrated healthcare solutions, will hold a ceremony to commemorate the groundbreaking of La Victoria Commons in Tempe, its first Low-Income Housing Tax Credit affordable housing community.
The groundbreaking takes place at 2320 E Apache Blvd. on Dec. 4 from 11 to 11:30 a.m., a press release explained. The event will include Governor Katie Hobbs and Tempe Mayor Corey Woods.
Copa Health, in partnership with Newtown CDC, is building 104 affordable one-, two-, and three-bedroom rental units, 19 townhomes for purchase, an integrated health clinic and a member-run restaurant at the Tempe site.
The partnership between Copa Health, Newtown and the city of Tempe will become a model to be replicated throughout Arizona and the rest of the country, according to the release.
Affordable rental units, opportunities for first time homeowners, available medical care, employment assistance, access to transportation and community gathering space are a few key features of this project.
