Speak up: Residents debate Target proposal for south Gilbert

Posted

Gilbert council to revisit controversial Target project

I am for the Target project being passed. The closest Targets are in Queen Creek and Mesa. Neither are in our tax base. We need business in the south Gilbert island that support our tax base. — Judy M. via social media.

Judy, there is a Target at Val Vista and Warner. There is also Power and Ray. — Ron Evans via social media.

Power and Ray only four miles away. Not far! — Sylvia A. via social media.

We already have three Target stores within a few miles of that location. With the residential area, the Regional Park (and events) and commercial businesses there is already plenty of traffic without adding another big store. There should be another spot in Gilbert that is not so close in proximity to the current Target stores. — Miriam Wendt via social media.

We live in south Gilbert so this new one would be perfect for us. The Rittenhouse Target is Queen Creek (Gilbert gets no revenue from that one). The other locations are not convenient for us. — Barb Farmer via social media.

The increase in cars will be people who already drive here. The big increase will be when Ocotillo opens. — Kerry Wemyss via social media.

Very concerned. Fire House across the street. — JoAnn Gryzlo via social media.

Let the market decide! — Raul Perez via social media.

Absolutely no! — Suzanne Wallisa via social media.
