Nearly 29 percent of total eligible voters cast ballots in Tempe’s March election with Mayor Corey Woods, incumbent council members Doreen Garlid, Randy Keating and newcomer Nikki Amberg as the top votegetters.

Proposition 478, the city’s long-range plan, also passed with more than 60 percent of the vote.

In all, 24,397 ballots were cast in the election, Maricopa County elections officials announced Saturday.

Hugo Tapia and David Lucier trailed the Garlid, Keating and Amberg for the three council seats up for election.

Woods ran unopposed.

Tempe will be canvassing the official results, according to the county elections officials.
