GCC golfers place 3rd in national tournament
2 Gauchos earn All-American honors

The Glendale Community College Gauchos golf team earned a third place finish at the NJCAA Div. II National Championships.
The tournament took place May 18-21 at Swan Lake resort in Plymouth, Indiana.
The Gauchos team total of 1184 strokes trailed only national champion Parkland (1168) and regional rival South Mountain (1170).
Sophomore Logan Eatherton, who placed second overall, and sophomore Riley Brown (7th place) both earned 1st-team All-American honors.
“This team has built a foundation for the future of GCC,” head coach Leo Maes stated. “They played for the ‘G’ on the hat. I’m blessed and thankful to have coached this team.”
Other members of the team include Garrett Auger (sophomore), Porter Brackett (freshman), Keaton Cervinski (freshman), Parker Everingham (freshman), Tristan Fuller (sophomore), Landon Herndon (sophomore), Reid McKinley Borg (sophomore) and Justin Simpson (sophomore).
