The annual Tempe Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade and fireworks show will cause traffic changes Saturday, Dec. 9, in the downtown Tempe area.

The following streets will be affected from 4 p.m. Dec. 9 until 6 a.m. Dec. 10:

Eastbound Rio Salado Parkway will be closed between Hardy Drive and Mill Avenue.

Westbound Rio Salado Parkway will be closed between Mill Avenue and Lakeside Drive.

-Southbound Mill Avenue will be closed between Curry Road and Rio Salado Parkway.

Northbound Ash Avenue will be closed at Third Street.

Eastbound First Street will be closed at Rio Salado Parkway.

A Tempe holiday tradition – the Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade – brings vessels of all shapes and sizes and a fireworks show to Tempe Town Lake.

The free, family event in Tempe Beach Park also features food and holiday shopping from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Santa will be there, too, according to event organizers.
