Zines event for teens is headed to Surprise library

Posted

Asante Library is calling all teenagers for its upcoming “Zines, Teens and Poet-ing” event.

It will be held from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at the library’s program room at 16755 W. Vereda Solana Drive.

Zines are a way for young people to express themselves with ideas, art and information.

In this free workshop, award-winning Lakota storyteller Taté Walker will guide participants through exercises in poetry writing and illustration to develop new ways to express identity via zine making.

Materials will be provided, and registration is required for this event. Those without a library card should register as a guest.
