Willow Canyon volleyball makes strides in Surprise

Willow Canyon  girls volleyball ended its best season in years Thursday night, reaching the first round of the 5A playoffs for the first time since 2018.

Sixth-seeded Canyon View knocked off #11 Willow Canyon 25-21, 25-16, 25-13 in Waddell.

But this team was a change for a program that missed the 5A play-in altogether. The Wildcats also have only three seniors, so 2024 does not look like a one-off.
