The WHAM Art Center announced its second concert of the season from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 28.
This special performance will showcase the world premiere of "One Voice - Two Minds," an original 60-minute musical composition by acclaimed composer, performer and professor Brad Robin.
Robin, winner of the prestigious Golden Key Piano Composition Competition in both 2023 and 2025, has joined forces with WHAM’s Literary Arts Manager Maggie Gautier to craft a unique and captivating experience.
The composition is inspired by Gautier’s book of poetry and songs, "Past the Past at Last," and promises to be a powerful fusion of music, poetry, and emotion.
“I had been searching for a lyricist, and when a mutual friend suggested Maggie, I knew I’d found my match,” Robin said. “Her writings struck a chord deep within me. I’ve spent the last couple of years weaving them into a cohesive, emotional experience. I can’t wait to premiere "One Voice - Two Minds" at WHAM, surrounded by breathtaking art. It’s going to be magical.”
Connie Whitlock, WHAM’s director, added, “Blending music, visual art, and literature is another vehicle of expression, and I’m all for it. Our mission is to create a vibrant, inclusive space where creativity flourishes, and community connections thrive.”
This concert follows a successful performance on March 15 by the AZ Art Alliance and CAFÉ Flutes, which drew a full crowd.
The event featured an innovative blend of live music and art, with the exhibition continuing at the WHAM Art Center Gallery through March 31.
