Water bills dropping for Surprise OTS customers

Removal of water recharge fee to save about $20 a month

Surprise Original Townsite residents will soon see their water bills lowered thanks to a deal to remove a water recharge fee.

The Surprise City Council on May 6 voted to approve an agreement with El Mirage Water, which serves the OTS, to remove the fee starting in July.

The two cities agreed to a 10-year deal to eliminate the recharge fee in return for Surprise providing El Mirage with water credits.
