When the Oasis Swim Center opened a few months ago in the west part of Surprise, everybody knew it would help relieve capacity crowds at the Surprise Aquatic Center.
But one aspect most people probably did not think about is the relief it would give the city’s waitlist for swimming lessons.
What used to be a wait list of nearly 3,800 kids has been pared down to just a couple of hundred thanks to the addition of the 19-acre pool complex at 12361 N. Perryville Road and some other changes the city has made to become more efficient.
