Surprise is seeking volunteers for its November day of service event.
The community is encouraged to join the city on Saturday, Nov. 9 for two great opportunities to give back to the community.
Volunteers can choose to participate at the Valley View Food Bank from 9 to 10:30 a.m., helping to pack food boxes for distribution to families in need.

Surprise is seeking volunteers for its November day of service event.
The community is encouraged to join the city on Saturday, Nov. 9 for two great opportunities to give back to the community.
Volunteers can choose to participate at the Valley View Food Bank from 9 to 10:30 a.m., helping to pack food boxes for distribution to families in need.
Or volunteers can help with debris removal, planting and adding signage at the Surprise Xeriscape Demonstration Garden from 8 to 10 a.m.
Those interested in helping in the garden must wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get dirty.
Bring work gloves, if possible. All other necessary tools will be provided.
Both service opportunities are capped at 20 volunteers, so individuals and groups of up to five volunteers can register for either event at surpriseaz.gov/DOSVolunteer.
