Surprise has released details for its 10^th Annual Veterans Day Parade on Monday, Nov. 11.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. and will be routed along Bullard Avenue between Paradise and Tierra Buena lanes.

It will feature community floats, bands, dancers and more.

This event has become a tradition in Surprise, honoring the men and women in uniform who have selflessly served our country.

For people arriving early to get a spot, there’s an option to purchase breakfast and coffee from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Surprise Stadium in the centerfield plaza. This year’s breakfast is $10 and will be served by the Surprise Police Department.

The city of Surprise administrative offices will be closed on Nov. 11.

City of Surprise trash customers only are reminded there will be a modified trash collection schedule that week that will postpone collection by one day. There will be no service on Nov. 11. Collection will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Note that not all Surprise residents are city of Surprise sanitation customers and may not experience a change in pickup service. Check with each service provider.

All three  Surprise libraries will have modified hours for the holiday. Surprise Regional and Asante libraries will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hollyhock will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parks and Recreation programming at city locations will proceed as planned. Review the program schedule to confirm whether an activity is scheduled for the holiday.

The Surprise Tennis and Racquet Center will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the holiday for open play. The Surprise Aquatic Center will be open from noon to 6 p.m.
