USTA tennis championships take over fall in Surprise

First tournament of six starts on Friday

More United States Tennis Association League National Championships are headed back to the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex, starting Friday.

Six USTA tournaments are on the docket, including the Southwest Adult Mixed League Championships to start it off from Friday through Monday.

In that opening tournament, co-ed teams of players from across the Southwest will make their way to Surprise for a chance at Section supremacy, in both the 18 and Over divisions and the 40 and Over divisions.

USTA tennis championships take over fall in Surprise

More United States Tennis Association League National Championships are headed back to the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex, starting Friday.

Six USTA tournaments are on the docket, including the Southwest Adult Mixed League Championships to start it off from Friday through Monday.

In that opening tournament, co-ed teams of players from across the Southwest will make their way to Surprise for a chance at Section supremacy, in both the 18 and Over divisions and the 40 and Over divisions.

The winners of this event will advance to the USTA League National Championship event held later in the fall, representing the USTA Southwest Section.

Other championships set for Surprise are as follows:

  • Oct. 10 to 12: Adult 18 & Over 3.5-Men and Women
  • Oct. 17 to 19: Adult 18 & Over 4.5-Men and Women
  • Oct. 24 to 26: Adult 40 & Over 3.5-Men and Women
  • Nov. 7 to 9: Mixed 18 & Over Mixed Doubles 6.0/8.0/10.0

The USTA League National Championships are the largest adult competitive tennis league in the country and includes the winners of each of the 17 sectionals across the U.S.

The fall season will be capped off with the USTA Level 3: Southwest and Texas team tournament from Nov. 14 to 16. This junior tennis event features players from the USTA Southwest and Texas sections who are selected individually and then organized into mixed-section teams. 

The Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex is at 14469 W. Paradise Lane. Admission is free.

Open court availability may be limited or not available due to tournaments and other special events.
