The West Valley Arts Council is presenting “Sustainable,” a new exhibit from April 4 through May 8 at the Arts HQ Gallery, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza, Suite 102.
This unique collection showcases original 2D and 3D artwork created from natural and upcycled materials, demonstrating the ingenuity and artistry of sustainable artists. Visitors will be invited to explore the transformation of discarded items into thought-provoking, skillfully crafted works of fine art.
“This is such a thought-provoking and inspirational theme,” WVAC Executive Director Kathy Knecht said. “Some of these artists are virtually making something out of nothing. I find myself constantly saying ‘Wow!’ This exhibit will be a fun outing for people of all ages who are looking for something interesting to do in the West Valley.”
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Admission is free.
Sustainable celebrates local artists who repurpose materials, giving new life to objects that would otherwise be discarded. These visionary creators take the concept of “trash to treasure” to the next level, skillfully shaping orphaned materials into striking artistic expressions.
More than just a showcase of eco-friendly art, the exhibit challenges patrons to identify the upcycled components within each piece, fostering a deeper appreciation for environmental stewardship through artistic innovation.
Join us for the opening reception to launch the Sustainable exhibit April 4 from 5 PM - 7 PM. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists, explore the exhibit, and engage in conversations about the intersection of sustainability and fine art. Discover how discarded materials can be transformed into masterpieces that challenge perceptions and inspire creativity.
