Surprise residential waste cleanup day coming up soon

Surprise residents looking to spruce up their landscape or clean out their garage can take advantage of the upcoming residential waste cleanup event on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Residents can drop off up to 2,000 pounds of non-hazardous, residential waste for free from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Northwest Regional Landfill, 19401 W. Deer Valley Road, There is a limit of one load per household.
Acceptable items include lawn waste and other household refuse.
Participants will be required to show proof of their Surprise residency via a driver’s license and utility bill showing the same home address.
Hazardous waste items are not accepted during this event. Items such as paint, batteries, pesticides, automotive fluids and pool chemicals need to be collected by scheduling a Household Hazardous Waste Collection appointment. Learn more at surpriseaz.gov/HHW.
