When Surprise residents and music fans from other places come to Mark Coronado Park on Saturday, March 21, it will mark the beginning of major performances the city’s new entertainment division will be producing.
Less than a year after the city’s Sports, Entertainment and Culture Department was rebranded from the Sports and Tourism Department, the city is bringing back the Out of the Park Music Festival with about 8,000 people expected to the grounds.
The city created the initial tourism department nearly 10 years ago to focus on sports-related tourism in addition to spring training. To help build a year-round schedule of entertainment events, the department expanded with the arts and culture division coming into the sports and tourism side.
