Surprise mayor’s reception to start spring action

21st annual event to feature reps from Royals, Rangers

Mayor Skip Hall will kick off the Surprise spring training season with the 21st Annual Mayor’s Spring Training Welcome Back Reception, featuring representatives from the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers.

This year’s happy-hour themed event, presented by Dental Depot, is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Surprise Stadium, 15850 N. Bullard Ave.

It will include hors d’oeuvres, a special commemorative gift and a fun atmosphere to network.

Speakers from the city, Royals and Rangers will highlight how the hometown spring training teams gear up for the season, showcase the draw of Surprise Stadium’s first-rate baseball facilities and give a sneak peek at what’s in store for fans in 2023.

Admission is $30 per person, and seating is limited. Tickets are now available for purchase at SurpriseStadium.com, or by calling the box office at 623-222-2222.

The 2023 spring training season begins at Surprise Stadium on Feb. 24.
