Surprise mayor leads roundtable on City Center plans

Posted

Surprise Mayor Kevin Sartor continued his Mayor’s Business Roundtable earlier this month, featuring a forum on the City Center master plan.

The Surprise Economic Development Department hosted the event on April 1 at Arts HQ, bringing together city representatives, stakeholders and business leaders for a collaborative discussion on shaping a vibrant downtown.

The forum spotlighted plans for mixed-use development, sustainable infrastructure and enhanced public spaces — ensuring future economic growth aligns with the values of the community.

The Surprise Center Development Company, the landowner and key partner driving the future of City Center, presented the forum. Scott Phillips of SCDC was keynote speaker at the event.

Attendees received updates on the vision, current progress and next steps for this transformative project in the heart of Surprise. The event also included an interactive discussion segment, allowing attendees to share their insights and feedback.

Others in attendance at the forum included Surprise Economic Development Director Jeanine Jerkovic, West Valley Arts Council Executive Director Kathy Knecht, Surprise Center Development Company Managing Parter Rick West, Carefree Partners Investments Business Development Manager Rico West and SimonCRE Acquisitions and Leasing Manager Tyler Beeck.
