The city of Surprise is partnering with Vitalant Blood Donation to host blood drives in December and January.

Community members wanting to participate are encouraged to make an appointment through the Vitalant website using Blood Drive Code p1T62. Although walk-ins are welcomed, those with an appointment will be given priority.

The following dates will host the drives:

  • Dec. 27: Surprise Regional Library (Program Room), 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Jan. 7: Surprise City Hall (Community Room), 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Jan. 17: Asante Library, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Contact Jamie Michler at 623-222-5127.

Vitalant is offering special gifts through its Donor Rewards program as a thank-you for your willingness to help others through blood donation.

Anybody who donates between Dec. 21 and Jan. 7 can receive a ‘90s-themed T-shirt, plus a $15 gift card while supplies last.

For donations between Jan. 1 and 12, donors can receive a voucher to be redeemed online for a specific-day admission ticket to the 2025 WM Phoenix Open. Voucher redeemed for a Feb. 5, 6 or 9, electronic ticket only.

As a local nonprofit, donations through Vitalant stay in the community. Every day, an average of 5,500 blood donations are needed to meet patient needs.
