The city of Surprise is launching a dedicated web page to provide information about the planned ICE detention center at Sweetwater Avenue and Dysart Road.
Mayor Kevin Sartor said at Tuesday night’s city council meeting that the surpriseaz.gov/DHS is meant to “help our residents distinguish between facts, rumors, and speculation.”
“It will provide accurate information based on what we know,” Sartor said, adding the site will not have a political slant pro or against the facility. “It’s intended to ensure our residents have access to reliable information.”
