Music from the folk era — with a touch of western, country and humor — will be coming to the Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church in The Grand.

Local six-piece The Salty Dawgs are performing a free concert on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 15820 W. Clearview Boulevard.

The show begins at 6 p.m. with doors opening a half-hour prior.

Adding an accomplished fiddle player and keyboard musician has allowed The Salty Dawgs to include instrumentals and other well-known standards. It still loves to encourage audience participation in a sing-along format.

Tckets are required and may be reserved by calling the Fellowship at 480-438-1115.

A free-will offering will be taken at this concert, with all proceeds being donated to Soldier’s Best Friend, an Arizona-based nonprofit dedicated to pairing and training service dogs that are provided at no cost to eligible U.S. military veterans living with combat-related post traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury.

Most of the dogs are rescued from local shelters. The veteran and dog train together to build a trusting relationship that touches two lives at once and inspires countless others.
