Surprise-based WHAM Art Center is hosting its annual fundraiser, “Swing Fore The ARTs,” at Top Golf Glendale this weekend.
The day includes two hours of unlimited golf, food and refreshments, interactive art activities, silent auctions prizes, trophies and bragging rights.
It’s set for 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at 6101 N. 99th Ave.
“Supporting the arts is about more than creativity — it’s about strengthening communities, empowering individuals and fostering connection,” WHAM officials wrote in a news release.
WHAM runs a series of life-changing programs, including the following:
Veteran art therapy programs — Providing a healing outlet for veterans and first responders.
Special needs art classes — Helping individuals with special needs and memory care discover their creative potential.
Teen art mentorships — Empowering at-risk teens to explore and express themselves through art.
Mobile art outreach — Bringing creativity to underserved communities.
This year, WHAM is also hosting an online silent auction. Between April 19 and 28, West Valley residents can bid on trips, prizes and artwork at wham-art.org/swing. There is no need to attend the fundraiser to participate.
“By supporting this event, you’re directly funding programs that foster healing, connection and creativity in the lives of those who need it most,” officials wrote in the release. “Art has the power to transform lives, from helping veterans cope with PTSD to giving individuals with special needs a voice to express themselves.”
Last year’s champions, the Surprise Fire-Medical Department and Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn, set the bar high. Gather a team of six for $750, or register individually for $125 to compete for fun prizes and bragging rights.
To donate to the WHAM Art Center, go to the donations page at wham-art.org/general-9 or wham-art.org/be-a-donor.
