The Surprise City Council on Aug. 20 agreed to some changes to the ways it puts items on meeting agendas and how special meetings can be called.
The Council unanimously voted to allow two city councilmembers to place items on agendas by the Friday before a Tuesday meeting. Previously, councilmembers had until five business days prior to a meeting to put things on the agenda.
As before, the two councilmembers would still need to submit a signed written request to the city clerk to place the item on the agenda. It’s now due by the end of the day on Fridays.
