The Shadow Ridge High School Band, directed by Kurwin Forest, recently performed before the Dysart Unified School District governing board meeting as a prelude to the night’s recognitions and a preview to upcoming events this season.
Expect the marching band to toot its horns, wave flags and banners, bang drums and more pomp and circumstance planned on Friday, Sept. 6, when Shadow Ridge High School hosts a dedication ceremony for the new turf field before the first home varsity football game of the 2024-25 season.
“With the sound of the marching band, you know the temperatures are going to drop and also it’s almost football season. So when you hear the marching band, it’s time,” said DUSD Superintendent John Croteau during the Aug. 22 governing board meeting.
