Surprise Parks and Recreation Director Holly Osborn couldn’t hold back her emotions when the ribbon was cut for the opening of the Oasis Swim Center on May 8.
“I’ll cry because I’m emotional, because this is like my baby,” Osborn told a crowd of city officials, dignitaries and people who worked on the city’s newest gem at Cactus and Perryville roads. “It’s not just for the city. It’s for all the families, every kid, every resident who will get to make memories here.”
Southwest Surprise is the new home for the pool complex, which also features a park, a splash pad and a new fire station, making it a facility unlike anything else in the Valley, especially the west part of the metro area.
