Overnight pavement work to close or restrict some Surprise roads

The city of Surprise is beginning pavement preservation work this week to lengthen the life of the street surface on several major roads.

It will result in closures and restrictions during overnight hours in several areas.

Pavement preservation work is a moving operation, meaning the work progresses along a section of road in a continuous fashion, rather than being confined to a stationary location for an extended period.

Overnight pavement work to close or restrict some Surprise roads

Posted

The city of Surprise is beginning pavement preservation work this week to lengthen the life of the street surface on several major roads.

It will result in closures and restrictions during overnight hours in several areas.

Pavement preservation work is a moving operation, meaning the work progresses along a section of road in a continuous fashion, rather than being confined to a stationary location for an extended period.

The following roads will be affected:

  • Civic Center Drive (Bell Road to Elm Street)  from July 23 to Aug. 3. Expect single lane restrictions nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Due to missing striping during this time, there will be daytime barricades to define lanes, but no daytime lane restrictions.
  • Greenway Road (Northwest Ranch Parkway to Bullard Avenue) from July 24 to Aug. 8. Expect nighttime multi-lane restrictions nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Due to missing striping during this time, there will be daytime barricades to define lanes, but no daytime lane restrictions.
  • Waddell Road (Reems Road to Bullard Avenue) from July 24 to 31. Expect multi-lane restrictions nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Due to missing striping during this time, there will be daytime barricades to define lanes, but no daytime lane restrictions.
  • Sarival Avenue (Greenway to Waddell roads) – This section of roadway will be closed from 9 p.m. July 24 to 5 a.m. July 25. Due to missing striping, there will be daytime barricades to define lanes from July 24 to Aug. 1, but no daytime lane restrictions.
  • Bell Road and Sunrise Boulevard Intersection – Early July 24, striping refreshing will occur in the intersection. Expect single lane restrictions.
