The new Oasis Swim Center is set to make its debut for an educational event focused on water and summer safety.

The Surprise Safety Splash will happen between 5 and 7 p.m. Friday, May 9 at the state-of-the-art swim facility at 12361 N. Perryville Road.

The event is free, but registration is required. Two time-blocks will be available, so secure a spot and select a preferred time slot.

Visit Surprise Rec to register, or sign up in person at the Parks and Recreation office at 15960 N. Bullard Ave.

Attendees will experience rescue demonstrations, fire trucks, police and SWAT vehicles, interactive games, raffles, prizes and swim evaluations.

Families can also cool off in the pool and zip down the water slides throughout the event. Burgers and hot dogs will be provided, courtesy of Surprise Firefighter Charities, while supplies last.

For information on Surprise Safety Splash, swim lesson assessments or swim team tryouts, visit surpriseaz.gov/Aquatics, or call the Surprise Parks & Recreation Department at 623-222-2000.
