Native desert plants focus of Surprise workshop

Join Melanie Cooley, of Watershed Management Group, from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, for an introduction on the uses and benefits of native desert plants.

As part of the city of Surprise’s Hydrate Series, a workshop called “Cultivating Native Edibles” will explore how to incorporate these resilient species into a landscape, helping to connect more closely with the natural abundance of the Sonoran Desert.

It is held at the Surprise Water Education Center, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza.
