Letters: Why publicize ICE protests when it is keeping us safe?

I shook my head when I saw that you gave the public information about attending the ICE protests.

These gatherings are anything but sensible. ICE is arresting violent, illegal offenders who are child molesters, murderers, rapists and basic thugs of the worst kind.

None of us would want them living next door to us, I guarantee you.

Letters: Why publicize ICE protests when it is keeping us safe?

Encouraging these protests is never going to de-escalate the problem. And I am not labeling all protests as violent, but you know as well as I do that getting your finger bit off, getting spit on, kicking out tail lights and bringing guns to these is anything but peaceful.

Destruction of hotels that ICE may be staying in is just evil. I feel for the hotel owners.

These protestors want to engage officers in violence, and sadly, when they become injured, or worse yet, dead, there is no accountability.

Unfortunately, people like Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz are on the wrong side of the law, and all this does is encourage more violence.

Most of us were taught growing up to respect cops, and that includes ICE. I support our cops no matter their label.

Sanctuary cities will never survive.
