Letters: Surprise can’t be called a real ‘city’ without a bus system
Surprise calls itself a “city,” yet has no actual city bus system.
Businesses are crying for employees, but there is no public transit system for employees (who don’t have access to a vehicle) to even get to a job, or for others to get to a school that’s further away from their home (thus reducing traffic).
I am thrilled to see more (hopefully) truly “affordable” housing being built. Now, get bus lines up and running — routes where a person needn’t walk more than three blocks to catch a bus for work, shopping, school or doctor appointments.

We’ve lived here for 17 years and the far West Valley is so often seen as or treated like an unwanted stepchild. (I tried coming up with a “clean” sounding analogy).
Come on city council, vote in decent public transit.
