Terri Leach, a sixth through 12th grade exceptional student services teacher at Imagine Prep Surprise, earned the title of Imagine Schools Southwest Regional Teacher of the Year on Feb. 19.
Imagine Schools Executive Vice President Monte Lange visited the school along with Southwest Regional Director Steve Sarmento and Sonya Jones, the assistant director of exceptional student services, to share Leach will be the nominee to represent the Southwest Region for the Imagine Schools National Teacher of the Year competition.
Leach has 15 years of teaching experience and has been at Imagine Prep Surprise for 12 years. A guiding principle that exists in her classroom is that “no perfect people are allowed,” which she said she believes promotes ethical behavior, reflection and a safe environment for academic and personal growth.
