Flag football has become a recognized scholarship sport for girls at the collegiate level and is now a sanctioned high school sport in several states.

“Although the season is just getting started, the girls have already shown remarkable improvement and growth in confidence,” school officials wrote in a news release. “Through dedicated practices, they’ve developed a strong foundation in the sport and are now showcasing their skills on the field.”

Head Coach Caleb Cajthaml said he has been pleased with the team’s effort so far.

“It’s been a really inspiring experience getting to watch our athletes approach flag football with the same dedication and commitment they bring to every other sport, if not more,” Cajthaml said. “We’ve been lucky to have some remarkable athletes try out for the team, and that’s done a lot to make up for what we might lack in experience.”
