The Grand Softball League crowned two champions recently.
CORE Institute won the 2024 Summer 2 Saturday League championship, while Fast Signs won the Weekday League title.
CORE fielded a team that consisted of stellar defense and timely hitting. The team hit an outstanding .703 for the eight game season, finishing with a 7-1 record.
Fantastic defensive plays coupled with excellence at the plate resulted in a championship for CORE despite multiple injuries that made the season challenging.
Team members were supportive and helpful at all times making the season as enjoyable as it could be.
CORE team members were driven to achieve the league crown and demonstrated in each week on the field.
Fast Signs had a great Summer 2 season with a 12-2-1 record to take the championship.
The team had solid hitting all year long and its defense was fantastic: players making diving catches, double plays and very few times of throwing the ball around.
Summer was also very challenging with some injuries and vacations. The team had a total of 47 subs for the season.
