Gisele Norberg resigns from P&Z to create opening

Posted

Gisele Norberg resigned from the Surprise Planning and Zoning Commission this week, creating an opening on the board.

"I simply had too much on my plate," Ms. Norberg said.

Ms. Norberg is the wife of Greg Norberg, who is running against Patrick Duffy for the District 3 seat on the Surprise City Council. The primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 4.

"It was an honor to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission," Ms. Norberg said. "Throughout the years here in Surprise, I've met a lot of pretty incredible people with talent and experience, yet they've not had the opportunity to serve in Surprise. It's my hope that we get a new face on the commission.

Applications for the vacancy are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza or at surpriseaz.gov.

Submit applications to the City Clerk’s Office in person or by e-mail to clerk@surpriseaz.gov. Applications are always available for all boards and commissions and will be kept on file for future vacancies.

The term for Ms. Norberg runs through June 30, 2023.
