Companionship is the Grand 'Plan' next week

Neighborhood club is producing heartfelt comedy for its next production

The Grand Drama and Comedy Club is taking a humorous look at finding a partner after losing a spouse in its next play.

“The Companion Plan,” a heartfelt comedy about a husband who, believing he is dying, places an ad to find his wife a future companion, is being staged from Thursday, Oct. 16 to Sunday, Oct. 19 at the mainstage of the Sonoran Plaza 19726 N. Remington Drive in The Grand.

In the play, outrage turns to reluctant curiosity as the wife and her neighbor interview three hilariously unsuitable suitors, each bringing more quirks than comfort. Packed with witty banter and touching surprises, this two act play delivers laughter and warmth in equal measure.

In the play, outrage turns to reluctant curiosity as the wife and her neighbor interview three hilariously unsuitable suitors, each bringing more quirks than comfort. Packed with witty banter and touching surprises, this two act play delivers laughter and warmth in equal measure.

Beneath the laughter lies a poignant exploration of love, resilience, and the impossibility of planning for life’s greatest uncertainties.

“I think audiences can expect a delightful mix of heartfelt emotions and laugh-out loud antics in this charming new play,” Director Eileen Brooks said.

The play stars Daniel Harris, Dean Dennis, Terry Pierce, Sandy Greenberg, Char Yurkunas, Cathy Pierce and Ron Gibala.

It will be staged at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16 through 18, with a 3 p.m. Sunday matinee on Oct. 19. Doors open with a cash bar available 30 minutes before the show.

Tickets are $20 at granddrama.com.
