Local members of the Sonora Chapter have been making plans for this event for the past year.
In addition, the January meeting of the Sonora Chapter featured guest speaker Marylou Fellman, past state regent of DAR.
Fellman presented a history lesson of three women of the Arizona territorial days.
Two of these women were notable Black educators who fought for the right to teach white students through the integration of the Arizona school system.
The other woman had a colorful history as a woman of ill repute.
