These free weekly classes will focus on practical strategies for managing falls for those 50 and older by helping to reduce the fear of falling and increasing activity levels.

Anyone who is concerned about falling or has fallen in the past, wants to improve balance, flexibility, and strength, or has started restricting their activities because of falling concerns is encouraged to attend.

The class meets from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Fridays from Jan. 17 through March 7, except Feb. 14, at the Surprise Senior Center, 15382 N. Hollyhock St.

Class size is limited to 20 participants, and registration is required.

Attendees do not have to be a member of the Senior Center to participate in these classes

“A Matter of Balance” is an award-winning, evidence-based program that teaches how to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home and exercise to increase strength and balance.
