After completing his military service, as a Sergeant in the Army, they relocated back to Michigan to finish his education at Michigan State University and raise their four sons and daughter.
After retiring from Cadillac Area Public Schools in Michigan they served as missionaries in Guam for two years. Upon completion of their service in Guam they moved to Arizona where they enjoyed traveling and year around warm weather. Phil loved spending time with his family.
He enjoyed morning walks and coffee fellowship with family and friends. He also enjoyed watching his alma matter, Michigan State, play football and basketball. He was actively involved in his church and could always be found mingling and talking with friends after the service.
