It is with much sadness that Jim, Carol’s husband, announces her passing on January 26, 2024, at the age of 80. Carol was born on July 7, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Carol and Jim were married on September 10,1966, in Milwaukee. She is survived by her husband, brother Jim Dettmann and his wife Delores, nieces Carrie Farmer, Debbie Krohn, Jodi Dunne and nephew Jeff Krohn. In 1963 Carol was selected Miss Tall U.S.A. at the National Convention in San Francisco. After Jim and Carol were married, Jim was transferred six times for his job, and Carol worked as a secretary at each location. Carol volunteered at the Posse in Sun City West as a secretary for over 20 years. She loved meeting and talking to people. Carol loved dogs, and in the 25 years we have been in Sun City West she had four schnauzers. Anyone who desires can make a donation to their favorite charity or Hospice of the Valley. No service is planned at this time.
