OPINION — When I became eligible to vote by mail, I did it. Voting by mail originally was restricted to active-duty military personnel, the disabled and elderly, election workers and voters who were temporarily out of town.
When voting got complicated and vote counting got faster, it was made available to all registered voters. Looking back over 20 years, I cannot recall having one problem voting by mail. My thoughts on the subject:
What is the problem with mail-in voting? City political machines. The nice, politically appointed government-employed election worker offers to come to your house and help you fill out your ballot and mail it for you. To keep their jobs, they help people vote. Nothing to do with the U.S. Postal Service.
