Forty-five years ago, The Friends of the R.H. Johnson Library began showing movies on Thursday nights. But now, in a few months, that cinematic custom will end. The final movie will be shown 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26.
“One of our biggest problems is there are fewer movies available to us that fit our audience,” stated Friends of the R.H. Johnson Library board member Larry Woods.
The bottom line the group is not making the money they used to. Back when these movies first stated, 300 people would attend the sellout movie. The Friends of the R.H. Johnson Library board member Nina Scozzari said in the past four years, they have sold out one movie.
