One sign of a growing city is development along a major highway.
Another sign is literally the addition of electronic billboards on that highway.
Surprise is possibly taking another crack at them along Loop 303 in the northern parts of the city. The Surprise Planning and Zoning Commission last month approved one billboard in a proposed corridor on the north side of Loop 303 as it curves around Surprise toward Peoria. The corridor is on the northern border of Corte Bella in the area of Tomahawk Way, Blackgold Lane, Rico Drive, Via Vistancia Drive and Juniper Drive.
