OPINION — It is with no slight amusement that I perused Katharine Hanson’s letter of 1/7/2026 decrying my overly dramatic and unsupported rhetoric regarding President Trump’s actions. Her ongoing angst over my letter of 12/17/2025 strikes me as somewhat disingenuous.
Is she equally outraged by the president’s words and actions since? For example, calling all Democrats “radical leftist scum,” “domestic terrorists” and “garbage?” My, that is certainly very civil of him.
Or perhaps his blowing up small boats in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific or his abduction and jailing of Venezuela’s president or his threats against Greenland, Mexico, Columbia, Iran, etc. Are these the acts of a “civil” president of the United States?
